By Dr. Jutta Schwarzkopf, Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung, Berlin 16.05.2023 1:15 pm | Bd.600, R.301 CHyN Abstract: A promising way to tune the ferroelectric properties of complex oxides is to deliberately modify the crystalline structure of these materials. This can be achieved by the deposition of thin oxide films, where lattice strain is introduced by the […]
Nanowire arrays interfaced with biological cells have been demonstrated to be potent tools for advanced applications such as sensing, stimulation, or drug delivery. This study published in Advanced Materials Interfaces demonstrates the generation of functional human iPSC-derived neurons on nanowire arrays with varying geometrical specifications. The cell/nanowire interactions range from fakir-like states to nanowire-encapsulating states […]
In 2017, the Center for Hybrid Nanoscience (CHyN) was formally opened. Shown are the 2. Bürgermeisterin of the Freie und Hansestadt Hamburg Frau Fegebank, the then President of the Universität Hamburg Prof. Lenzen and CHyN-director Prof. Blick.

We are conducting research in the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Specifically, we investigate quantum transport in van der Waals materials, nanomaterial growth, and application of nanostructured materials in photonics, electronics, mechanics, bio-circuits.
The CHyN is registered as a ‘Gerätezentrum’ of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) under code RI_00477.
